RaceSerts are self-tapping and self-aligning. That means they require no tap, and they go in straight and true.

Instructions:

1. Drill out the damaged threads to make your pilot hole.
2. Assemble the install bolt as shown. Apply tapping fluid to the RaceSert.
3. Drop the RaceSert into the hole. Seat the RaceSert in the hole by firmly tapping the bolt all around its edges 4 or 5 times with a hammer.
4. Turn in the RaceSert with a long-handled ratchet until the nut bottoms.***
5. Secure the nut with an open-end wrench so it doesn’t move. Then back out the bolt.
6. If the RaceSert isn’t quite flush with the surface, reinstall the bolt assembly and give it another turn or two. To avoid scoring the surface, don’t overturn.

***NOTE:  A faster alternative is to start the RaceSert with a ratchet - 3 or 4 turns – then finish the installation with a 3/8” drive impact driver.
